Most people get SO up in their head about it and they listen to all the horrid advice. So, disregard everything I said if you are applying for a high-level engineering position. For example, my dad is an engineer in a high-level position and they want his resume to have like 5 pages of details on his work history. Side note: this could be different for certain fields/levels though. Generally speaking, ~4 most relevant and keep it to one page. I would not call if someone wrote at the top that they have 10 years of relevant experience if that work isn’t shown on their resume (usually people just write that to get the phone call and then try to persuade you on the phone that they are qualified even if they aren’t). If there are gaps in a resume (years) I would ask about those on the phone. If you spent 10 years working in a similar role to what you’re applying for, even if it was like 5 jobs ago, I would rather see that than see the 4 most recent jobs if they are not nearly as relevant. I am more interested in relevant experience over recent experience. If you have any content to suggest for the Recommended Viewing section, message the mods with a link.
